# Team members

> Invite your team to a Keep workspace, choose what each person can do, and give every customer account an owner.

A Keep workspace can hold several people. Everyone works on the same data: the same accounts, alerts, issues, playbooks, surveys and updates. Each person signs in with their own login.

## Roles

There are three fixed roles.

| | Owner | Admin | Member |
| ---------------------------------------- | :---: | :----------: | :----: |
| Accounts, issues, playbooks, recovery | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Surveys and What's new | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Assign account owners | ✓ | ✓ | ✓ |
| Invite and remove people | ✓ | Members only | — |
| Change roles | ✓ | — | — |
| Integrations and API keys | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Alert settings, feedback identity secret | ✓ | ✓ | — |
| Billing and plan | ✓ | — | — |
| Export the workspace's data | ✓ | — | — |

* The **owner** is the account that created the workspace and pays for it. A workspace has exactly one owner, and nobody can change or remove them.
* An **admin** runs the workspace. Admins cannot touch billing, and cannot change or remove the owner or another admin.
* A **member** works the accounts. Members can see the settings and integrations but cannot change them.

The server checks every permission, and the database enforces the same rules. Hiding a button is only there for convenience; it is not what protects the data.

## How many people

| Plan | Team members |
| -------- | ------------ |
| Starter | Up to 3 |
| Pro | Up to 5 |
| Business | Up to 10 |

The count includes the owner and any invitations that are still open. The plan price does not change with the team size, because there is no per-seat billing.

When a workspace is at its limit, **Invite member** is disabled and the page links to the plans. After a downgrade, nobody is removed. Everyone already in the workspace keeps access, and new invitations open up once the team fits the plan again.

## Inviting someone

1. Go to **Settings → Team** (**Team** in the sidebar).
2. Click **Invite member**, enter the email address and pick a role.
3. The person gets an email with a link. The link works for 7 days.

To accept, the person signs in with **the same email address** the invitation was sent to. A forwarded link does not work for anyone else. If the email does not arrive, Keep gives you the link to copy and send another way.

You can **resend** an invitation (this issues a new link and restarts the 7 days) or **revoke** it (this frees its seat).

<Note>
Each person works in one workspace. Someone who already pays for their own Keep workspace has to cancel that subscription before joining another one.
</Note>

## Removing someone

An owner or admin can remove a person from the menu next to their name. Admins can only remove members. Removal is immediate. The accounts that person owned become **Unassigned**, and everything they did stays in the workspace: issues, notes, playbook runs and history.

An admin or member can also leave on their own, from the bottom of the Team page.

## Account owners

Every customer account can have an owner from the team. Set it in the **Owner** column of **Accounts**, or at the top of the account's page. An account without an owner shows **Unassigned**.

Only active members of the workspace can be picked. Each change (assigned, reassigned, unassigned, or unassigned because the owner left) appears in the account's **Activity**.

## Team activity

The Team page lists who was invited, who joined, role changes and removals, with who did each one and when.
